Press notes
Overview
Seven Blasphemies is a traditional turn-based roguelike about surviving the final days of a cursed world. Players move one tile at a time under the pressure of a doom calendar: each dawn may strike the world with a new Blasphemy, a permanent curse that stacks with everything before it. When the seventh Blasphemy arrives, the world ends.
Key points for coverage
- A doom calendar that permanently escalates every run: curses stack, systems decay, and the world grows meaner each day.
- Classic roguelike fundamentals: grid movement, turn-based decisions, procedural danger, and permadeath.
- 6 playable classes, each doomed differently, built around distinct playstyles.
- Readable, mechanically distinct monsters that force decisions about engaging, fleeing, or spending scarce resources.
- OSR-inspired design focused on scarcity, risk, and consequence rather than power fantasy.
Editorial angles
- Strong single-sentence hook: “you are not racing toward glory, you are racing against extinction.”
- The Blasphemy system as a fresh take on run-altering modifiers: permanent, stacking, and world-wide.
- Minimalist pixel art with a stark, limited palette that keeps lethal encounters readable.
- Good fit for coverage of traditional roguelikes, OSR-inspired design, and high-tension survival runs.
